Poker Run
Saturday, March 7th, 9:00 AM on SGC Canals, 3:00PM at Pavilion

Are you ready to go out on your boat and have some fun and also possibly win some money?  Get out your money to play the Poker Run.  The Poker Run is Saturday, March 7th.  If you want to bring a guest, please do so. You can purchase your poker hands up to March 3rd, which is the last yacht club meeting before the poker run.  You can come to our house to purchase your poker hands if you are unable to go to the meeting but the sales stop on March 3rd.   If you do come to our house please call first as we may not be home.
The Poker Run starts at 9:00 and ends at 1:00.  The cost starts at $5.00 for three hands.   It’s five card draw and the ace is ALWAYS high except in a small straight and nothing else.  Best hand and worst hand wins.  If the pot is really big, we may also pay on second best hand.  At the time you purchase your poker hands, you will receive the rules and a map as to where the dealers are and we will also have them available for you by email or the SGCYC website.   You can go by boat, car, bike, or whatever.  If you go by car the dealer will be in the back of their home on their dock.
If you don’t know what a Poker Run is, I will try to explain it as easy as possible.  There are five dealers at five different docks.  You go to each dealer in any order you want to draw one card for each hand you purchased.  The dealer writes down the card you drew and you go on to the next dealer at his dock until you have drawn all five cards for one hand and for each hand you purchased.  Some people keep track of their hands on their own.  That is strictly your decision.
After you have finished, we will gather at the pavilion at 3:00 P.M.  Please bring a covered dish enough to share. We will supply the music and drinks.  At the time you come to the pavilion you will turn in your poker hands.  Also, when you turn in your poker hands you will receive ONE ticket for a drawing.  You will only receive one ticket, no matter how many hands you purchased.  If you are coming to the covered dish and bringing a nonmember, there will be a $5.00 charge.  If you want to come to the covered dish and not play poker, you are welcome to come.  Just bring a covered dish.  Also, if you didn’t play poker and want in the drawing, you can pay $2.00 for a ticket, but only ONE ticket.  Anyone can purchase additional poker hands at the pavilion so bring some extra money.  The cost is the same.  The dealers can also play poker at the pavilion.
So come on everybody.  Bring your friends, guests, and neighbors, whoever you want.  Let’s play some poker, have some drinks and good food, listen to the music, and win some money.  You never know, you could be the big winner.  First place won $100.00 in previous years and because we had so many players one year, the pot was $150.00.  It was wonderful and I hope it continues to grow.  See you at the Poker Run.  KA-CHING!!
